Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 21, 2026
BuildSignal (“BuildSignal”, “we”, “us”) provides customer-feedback software. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We act as a data controller for your account data and as a data processor for the feedback your end users submit through your workspace.
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, and organization details, handled through our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Workspace content: feedback posts, votes, comments, roadmap and changelog entries you and your users create.
- Customer records: data you import (e.g. email, company, MRR, churn risk) to power prioritization.
- Billing data: processed by Stripe; we store only subscription status and identifiers, never full card numbers.
- Usage and device data: basic logs needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
How we use information
To provide and secure the service, process payments, send transactional and changelog emails you opt into, detect duplicate feedback and compute prioritization, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
AI processing
Feedback text may be sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate embeddings for duplicate detection and to produce summaries, themes, and changelog drafts. This data is processed to deliver the feature and is not used to train third-party models.
Sub-processors
We rely on reputable infrastructure providers, including Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), OpenAI (AI features), and Resend (email).
Data retention & your rights
We retain data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can export your workspace data at any time and request deletion of your account. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or erase your personal data.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, workspaces are isolated per tenant, and access is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard practices.
